Why not a Boutique Hotel for tight budgets??
Pourquoi un hôtel pas cher devrait-il être nécessairement sans charme et sans âme !! ?
Why a budget hotel should necessarily be charmless and soulless! ?
It is this thinking that led us to think about a concept of city hotel resolutely for budget conscious travelers but with a quite pronounced Deco touch. We have used two designers: one Dutch and one Swiss Freriksen Marty, Thierry Zali, both associated in the studio www.zali-Freriksen.com
Without revolutionizing the hospitality world, we just wanted a cozy and safe atmosphere sprinkled with a few strokes of humor (portraits of cows, elephants, dogs in uniform …).
Our rooms are small (about 11 m2). The reflex would have been to install small beds to save space. In fact we have voluntarily chosen to favor large beds (140 and 160) even for a single person, and high enough to wallow lazily to view mails on laptop, make some calls or simply watch television. Bed height allows incidentally to slip one’s luggage.
Our bathrooms are actually cabins bathroom small but well designed and quite honestely : spotless. They have a shower, sink and toilet. Originally, they were designed for cruise ships.
Those who want to privilege the view will favor rooms on the street side, those who want to privilege a more intimate atmosphere will favor the rooms on the courtyard side.
